TGATB: Lights are going out across Watford

Can anyone say how much this set of state of the art traffic lights cost to install at Watford Junction?

I'd like to say the winner of our competition gets a share of the £200,000 it cost to install these lights. He is a keen cyclist from Hertford and he takes a great interest in transport matters. He cannot have his prize money because its been spent in such a daft way.

Most weekday evenings the traffic in front of Watford Junction is solid. After a week of traffic jams across Watford caused by the partial closure of the ring road, they finally turned this set off on 6 May 2004.

Hey presto! No traffic!!!?!

Motorists enjoy it while you can, creating traffic jams appears to be the official policy at County Hall and Watford Town Hall and so I am sure there will be lots more traffic lights in Watford soon. Watford Council's got an official policy too, they want this kind of silliness right the way across Watford. The only problem is neither seem to have taken the views of you the public to heart.

Traffic Light of the Week Once again Traffic Light of the Week has been won by Niff. This is his second project for the West Herts College distance learning course of Traffic Light Construction. Niff believes he can see "little green men" now, which perhaps shows how hard he has been studying. The whole piece is entitled "Sunset on the whole traffic management fiasco". Rules: Traffic Lights must be located in the Central Green Zone. You do not have to make your own lights to enter, but more weight is given to Watford citizens who are home traffic light constructors.
